Natasha “TASH” Gray

TASH (sounds like cash) is a TV writer by trade and a BLACK woman by fortune.

Tash’s formative years clashed with the crack-riddled, gang-infested, and impoverished streets of South Central, Los Angeles. She says she avoided becoming a statistic with lots of prayers, education, and determination.

She’s written for critically acclaimed series such as Snowfall, P-Valley, and the upcoming Raising Kanan. She changes the world by being a bright light illuminating stories that power brokers ignore or exploit. Her superpower is authenticity. She breathes life into characters by being honest about the world we inhabit and all it is - from the joys to the injustices.

About five years ago, Tash was doing what she does best: pitching a perspective for a Black female character in the writer’s room for a TV show. She told her co-workers that since Black women are the most educated subset of the USA, the character has a degree… A higher-ranked writer - yes, a white guy - argued that there was no way that “fact” was true. Then, most of the other silent white writers ran to “google” to find out that Tash was correct. The main dissenter backpedaled and admitted his shock. Tash is who she is — in the hood or Hollywood. She checked him on his assumption, bias and declared right there, “Black Women Save the World. Remember that.”

From that day forward Tash repeated those five words to various white people in many rooms, not just writer’s rooms. She made a goal to create a safe space for Black women to be celebrated, acknowledged, and revered. This website is merely the beginning of the platform where Black women will finally hear, “You are amazing, appreciated, and admired!”. Tash intends to build a complete network where Black women and allies of Black women show their gratitude through consistent support and opportunities.

Welcome to Black Women Save The World. The place Tash envisioned years ago finally coming to fruition.

Outside of the entertainment industry, Tash is proud of being a sister, friend, aunt, member, and former National Second Vice President of Delta Sigma Theta, a mentor in a few organizations, author, and podcast host. She’d say she knew she made it when she could put her bills on autopay. In her spare time, Tash is in the Peleton cult, enjoys outdoor bike rides, power shops at Ross, and teaches herself new ways to create. NEXT UP: putting back on her director’s hat, producing features, and continuously building a legacy that proves both her melanin and ovaries have superpowers. As a Black woman of faith that’s been loved and supported by other Black women — Black women continuously saves her world.
